Windsor and Eton Riverside station
One hundred years ago today Britain and the Empire declared war on Germany, ushering in the first Europe-wide war for 99 years since the defeat of Napoleon. The events of the next five years affected every town and village in the land.
This 90 minute walk led by Blue Badge tourist guide Mike Armitage will explore how the Great War affected people living in Windsor, from the ordinary people to the Royal family in the castle. There will be tales of Zeppelins, Victoria Crosses and rugged men from the wilds of Canada.
