A walk looking at the contribution of our sailors and submariners during the ‘Great War’. Timed to give an opportunity to watch part of the annual wreath-laying ceremony at the National Submarine War Memorial on Victoria Embankment.
Our story today starts with the maritime memorials in Trinity Square and will look into the role of global trade routes on the High Seas during the days of the height of the British Empire.
The vital importance of a strong Royal Navy, merchant marine and reserve services will be revealed, as we make our way through that enduring engine of commerce, the City of London to the National Submarine Memorial near Temple Tube station.
